GET TO KNOW KATE
In addition to my love of mediation, I am passionate about adoption, community involvement, and helping women and families. I volunteer with a number of community organizations including the BRIDGE dialogue project, Urban Ministries and Hope Leadership Academy.
I have been honored to receive a number of awards in recognition of my community service. I was appointed by Governor Perdue to the North Carolina Council for Women and I have served for many years on the Wake County Commission for Women, including service as the Vice Chair.
I graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Women’s Studies with concentrations in Spanish and International Studies. I received my Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
During college, I studied Spanish at the University of Salamanca. I am proficient in Spanish and working toward mastery in order to communicate more effectively with Spanish-speaking mediation participants.
When I am not working or volunteering I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading and spending time with my friends and family.
Compassion bleeds through everything that Kate does.
Lizzy AdamsShe’s a very special woman to tackle all that she tackles with her family and career, and to still take time to encourage others to give back. She’s getting children involved and teaching them that this is something they should be doing throughout their lives.
